Privacy
1. Our commitment to privacy
Our Privacy and Security Policy (the "Policy") is designed to assist you in understanding how we collect, use and safeguard the personal information you provide to us through your use of our Site and through e-mail. In addition, information you provide us in using our online Services is treated as described in this Policy, except as otherwise specified in the Services agreement between you (or the school or company you work for) and us. This Policy is not intended to be a statement of our privacy and security policies regarding information you send to us by any other means, including without limitation mail, fax, and telephone. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy are defined in the Terms of Use Agreement, into which this Policy is incorporated.
2. Information we collect
The ONLY information we collect is information you knowingly choose to disclose. For example, if you choose to correspond with us through e-mail, we may retain your e-mail address and other identification information conveyed, together with the content of your e-mail messages and our responses.
We do NOT use "cookies," Web server logs, or other data-gathering technology to collect information about you without your knowledge, on either an individual or aggregate basis.
3. How we use the information we collect
Broadly speaking, we use personal information for purposes of administering our business activities and providing service to our clients. Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our Site and new services we think you will find valuable. The lists we use to send you service offers are developed and managed under our traditional corporate standards designed to safeguard the security and privacy of our clients' and potential clients' personal information. As a recipient of our service offers, you will be given the opportunity to notify us of your desire not to receive these offers by sending us an e-mail request. Except as otherwise explained in this Policy, we do not share your personal information with third parties.
4. Law enforcement
We reserve the right to cooperate with government and law enforcement agencies engaged in investigations of activities that are, or are believed to be, illegal. We may share your personal information with such agencies if we believe that a crime or any act that endangers the health and safety of others may have been or may be committed. We also may share your personal information in response to an appropriate subpoena or if we deem it to be reasonably necessary to protect our legal rights.
5. How we secure transmissions
When you send information to us through one of our Services, secure server software which we have licensed uses 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer technology to encrypt all information you input before it is sent to us. The information is scrambled en route and decoded once it reaches our Site.
E-mail that you send to us may not be secure unless we advise you that security measures will be in place prior to your transmitting the information. For that reason, we ask that you do not send personal information such as Social Security or account numbers to us through an unsecured e-mail.
6. How we protect information we collect
Information Security. We utilize industry-standard encryption/security software to safeguard the privacy of personal information we collect from unauthorized access or disclosure and accidental loss, alteration or destruction. We would like to tell you that your information is as safe with us as it is in your head, but, as hackers have proved worldwide, no computer system is entirely foolproof. The most anyone with a website can do is make reasonable efforts, which is what we do at Paradigm.
Evaluation of Information Protection Practices. Periodically, our operations and business practices are reviewed for compliance with corporate policies and procedures governing the security, privacy and quality of our information.
Employee Access, Training and Expectations. Our values, ethical standards, policies and practices are committed to the protection of personal information. In general, our business practices limit employee access to personal information, and limit the use and disclosure of such information to authorized persons, processes and transactions.
Reliance on You. Your privacy and our Site's security depend, in part, on you. In order to use any of our Services, you need a username and password. You must keep this username and password secure; do not share it with anyone. In addition, you may not use your username and password to misuse or abuse our Services by, for example, attempting to gain access to any information that you are not authorized to access.
7. How you can access and correct your information
You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by e-mailing us. Although it is not always possible to remove or modify information in the databases, we will make reasonable efforts to do so.
8. Other websites linked to our site
We are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site nor for the information or content contained therein. Often links to other websites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be useful to the users of our Site.
Please remember that when you use a link to go from our Site to another website, this Policy is no longer in effect. Your browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website's own rules and policies. Please read over those rules and policies before proceeding.
9. Your consent
By using our Site you consent to our collection and use of your personal information as described in this Policy. If we change our privacy and security policies and procedures, we will post those changes on our Site to keep you aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we may disclose it.
